Very mini Dorothy Perkins jewellery haul!

I have a very mini haul showing you some jewellery bits I picked up in Dorothy Perkins when they were having a 30% off sale.   I love Dorothy Perkins jewellery - I don't think it gets the credit it deserves and I could spend a dangerous amount of money on it so when I saw the sale it excited me a lot!

My biggest bargain was this cute little ring which was only £1 in the sale anyway!  It has a little rabbit on it and I just thought it was really cute!

I have been looking for a necklace like this one for ages so when I saw it with 30% off I just had to have it!   It was originally £10 so I got it for £7 which is a little on the pricey side but I really liked it so... I bought it!

This bracelet I sneakily got for cheaper than 30% as i think the shop assistant must have priced it wrong but I wasn't going to complain!   It was originally £7.50 but I got it for £3!   Total bargain!   Anyway I loved the way it had the edgy spikes but with girly pearls.

So that's my shout-out to Dorothy Perkins jewellery! It can be expensive but they often have sales so it's worth checking out for some lovely pieces!

Products I have used up/empties

My empties!

I have been itching to do an empties post for ages but it takes me absolutely ages to actually use up products!  I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing really but I do know that I love to use up things as it makes me feel good that I have actually got my money's worth out of something!

So over the last few months here is what I have used up:

L-R Superdrug hand therapy hand & nail cream, Lush tea tree water, Herbal essences beautiful ends shampoo, Lush rub rub rub shower scrub, Batiste dry shampoo, Lush happy hippy shower gel

Superdrug hand cream:
I always buy this hand cream in the winter because it is really cheap!   I like it because it sinks in really quickly and isn't greasy at all.   It's not a wonder product but for the price you pay I think it does the job well enough.

Lush tea tree water:
I talked about this in my skin-care post.   I absolutely LOVE this toner!  It is so refreshing, smells gorgeous and feels like it cleans my skin and takes away excess oils.

Herbal essences beautiful ends shampoo:
I was excited to try this as I have terrible split ends, even though I do use heat protector (I promise!!) But whilst it's a nice shampoo, it leaves my hair smelling nice and maybe a little softer - I really don't feel like it helps my split ends at all.   Even when I use it with the matching conditioner I don't think it has any miraculous effects.

Lush rub rub rub shower scrub:
I received this scrub in a gift set and I really enjoyed using it.   It leaves your skin feels hydrated, smells lush (teehee) and it is very very blue!  What's not to love?!

Batiste dry shampoo:
This stuff is A-MAZ-ING!   I have really greasy hair which I normally wash everyday or it looks revolting!   But with this I can spritz a bit on, rub it in and my hair looks and feels clean!   i have it in the cool and crisp scent which i love as it adds to that clean feeling even more.

Lush happy hippy shower gel:
This smells like Minadex!! Which if you have no idea what I am going on about is one of those kids medicines that you have when you have a cold and it smells (and tastes) soooooo nice!   It's a sweet orange flavour and in my opinion happy hippy is exactly like that!   Anyway... the smell however doesn't linger so that's not great but other than that it's a nice shower gel.

Hope this was interesting or helpful to you!

My skin-care favourites for oily skin

Hi!
So I thought that I would write a post about my favourite skin-care products that I use for my really oily skin.   I find that there is LOADS of products around for dry skin and LOADS of people who talk about dry skin but there isn't so much for oily skin and if you're anything like me then that is a bit annoying!

When my skin is really oily and a bit spotty I will use a scrub.   I find that scrubs help to dry out my skin and just control the oil and shine.   I use the Witch exfoliating face wash.   Whenever I use it my skin feels so clear and fresh - the packaging claims that it "leaves your skin so clean it tingles" and I do honestly agree with this.   It is a gel type texture with little grains which scrub your face and feel like you are really cleaning your skin.   Throughout the day my face especially my T zone gets really oily but when I use this there is minimal oil which is AMAZING!  The bottle is around £3-£5 for 150 ml which lasts ages and you can buy it from Boots, Superdrug or supermarkets like Sainsbury's or Tesco.

Another favourite is the Lush mask of magnaminty face and back pack cleanser.   It looks like one of their fresh face masks but it's not fresh so you don't have to keep it in the fridge (which is good if you're lazy like me)!   I use this once a week when my skin is really bad.   The feel of it on the skin is a bit scary at first as it almost feels as if it is kind of scraping your skin off - that makes it seem awful but trust me it's good!   I apply a generous amount on my face and then leave it for 5-10 minutes and once I've taken it off my skin feels amazing!   It feels really soft and looks clear.   You can buy this from Lush for £4.95 and if you use the pack once a week I would say it will last around 2 months.

There are two toners I use especially for my oily skin.   On an everyday basis when my skin isn't too oily i use the lush tea tree water.   I spray a little onto a cotton pad and wipe it my face and neck after cleansing, but you can also spray it directly onto your face.   It feels really refreshing and smells gorgeous!   You can buy it for £3.95 for 100g which will last me 4-6 months.   I don't find that it controls oil the best though so when I'm super oily I will use the Clearasil ultra deep pore treatment toner...

It is a kind of scary blue colour and it smells almost medicinal - really strong but I weirdly like the smell!   Again I pore a bit onto a cotton pad and wipe it over my face after cleansing.   This toner is really great!   If you have dry skin then this is a big no no as it really strips the skin of oil which is what I need so it works great for me.   If your skin isn't as oily as mine I would recommend following up with a good moisturiser.   I find that it cleans and tightens pores and takes away all the oil that I don't want.   This is £3-£5 from Boots or Superdrug and is really worth a go!

The only moisturiser I use is the Simple spotless skin anti blemish moisturiser.   I wanted a moisturiser that would be good for oily skin as I know that it's still really important to moisturise even with oily skin so I thought I would it a try.   I find it sinks in really quickly and leaves my skin looking and feeling really soft and not oily.   I don't know whether it really stops spots but combined with other anti spot products I think it will help.   It's about £4 from Boots or Superdrug.
And that's it for my oily skin-care favourites!   Sorry it was so long but I hope it helped some people!

I went to Matalan!

Matalan for me has always been one of those shops where in magazines there always seems to be so many nice things and then I go there and there’s nothing!   Although I have to say I have always liked their accessories but anyway back to the point!
So first I did something i never do and I shopped in the childrenswear section!  Normally I’m one of the ones who gets annoyed at my friends who can still wear age 13 clothes but I have to say the Matalan childrenswear was amazing!
You may have seen these kind of leggings in river island at the moment:

I have a pair of them in grey and really like them but they are at the end of the day £20.   I was happy to pay this price until I found some almost identical in the Matalan childrenswear for half the price at £10!   This was in the teen girls section which ages from 8 – 16.   I am normally a size 10 in bottoms so I bought an age 16.   And I can honestly say I think they are the same size, if not bigger than my size 10 River Island ones!   Crazy stuff but so worth it!   So I bought them in a camely browny colour and a redy burgundy colour which I love!

So I would say make sure you look in children’s sections – you might be surprised and come out with a bargain or two!
Then whilst I was there I had a look at the shoes (as you do!) and found a gorgeous pair of ankle boots for £18.  I normally really struggle to find shoes to fit me but these were great.   They are a bright brown colour and have a lovely ankle strap and gold detail to them.

So I would say that was a pretty successful Matalan visit – if you don’t normally go there then I would really recommend having a look!
